In this course we will investigate a variety of watercolor tools, paper and tips that will help to bring confidence and ease into using watercolor. In each class we will experiment with basic watercolor techniques using a variety of subject matter. The goal is to get you to love and appreciate watercolor as in all of its unique beauty, while creating a nurturing and inspiring space for each student to learn in.

During each class we will be focusing on different watercolor techniques including wet on wet, wet on dry, blending, glazing, dry brush, and layering. We will explore methods of how to create perspective, nature, light, and more.  Each class will be enough for you to gather a basic understanding of these techniques and with your time between each class you will have the option to continue practicing what you have learned. The most important tools to start will be watercolor paper, at least two sizes of brushes and a starter set of watercolor paints. I will provide you with a materials list and give resources to purchase them if you do not have them already. I look forward to share one my most beloved art materials with you!

We will also explore other water based media such as watercolor pencils, Inktense Pencils, and water-based pastels as a bonus! No need to purchase these until I demonstrate them. If you love them then you can buy them to try!

No art skills are necessary for this course. Drawing materials will be provided for you to transfer onto your watercolor paper in a guided manner when necessary.
