Saturday Morning Class January
In this 4 week course participants will experience using a variety of basic acrylic techniques such as line and mark making, dabs, texture, shapes, gradients (light to dark), and blending using different brushes and acrylic paint. We will create a color wheel (intro to color theory), a brush map exploring all of the ways our brushes can make marks/lines/texture, look at how to use layering of glazes and washes, and talk a little bit about the elements of art and principles of design. Each class will start with demonstrations to follow or watch and do on your own and time to experiment with all that we learn by making small paintings at the end of each class.
This is an adult workshop, but feel free to bring your children if they will enhance your experience or if you’d like to create together. Perfect for teens who want to learn how to paint!
COST: By Donation (students have been paying anywhere from $5 – $50 per class which comes out to $20-$200 for the whole course. Please pay what matches your financial means and needs. No on turned away due to lack of funds.
